6. In game name? Bubba Wells
7: Your ID ingame?: TBD
Additional Information:
1. Why do you want to be an administrator?:
- In my opinion, administration is an easier commitment than RP. Hear me out though... I enjoy the RP life and experience. But as a cybersecurity professional, ensuring people don't take advantage of the systems in place and helping to maintain order and a good experience is really something I enjoy. In addition to the burden of administration vs RP being easier in my opinion, RP requires a lot of hard set time commitments like being present for X events, being at a job or part of a gangs events at certain times. Admins arent constrained to this, they can drop in and easily have stuff to do right away, and then hand off to another admin when they're done right away. Working from home, this lets me drop in for a couple hours during the day when work is slow, get some good admin work done, and then drop back out when I have to get back at it. Then I can hop back on in the evenings and take care of more issues. All in all, I've been in RP when the admin's haven't done their job well, and it led to a really poor experience. I don't want that for Cypress, and I want to be part of the solution.
2. Why should we consider you for a administrative position?:
- I served in the military for 8 years, so I have a strong sense of work ethic and also order and hierarchy. I am also a cybersecurity professional by career, so I both am familiar with administering various platforms as well as being vigilant to look out for things that aren't in line with "how its supposed to be". I also have experience in investigations and conflict resolution, allowing me to efficiently determine what is going on in any given situation, collect information, and make an appropriate decision without being flippant or negligent. I have 3 young kids myself, so I am no stranger to showing up to chaos and getting down to what really happened
3. Your greatest strengths? (Please list at least three):
- Integrity: This isn't fluff for the application, this is a really important character trait that means the world to me. If you're not trustworthy or your word isn't trustworthy, you have nothing in this world in my opinion. I choose to do the right thing even if people won't like me for it, or if it will have negative impact on myself.
- Respect: This came predominantly from the military but I choose to give respect freely and hope for the same in return. I don't speak down to people, I am gracious to someone when they make a mistake, and I believe in following a chain of command which, in turn, means if someone senior to me gives me instructions they will be accomplished.
- Investigations: My entire career has centered around investigations. This has trained me in astute attention to detail, information gathering, and report writing. I have excelled in my career without any of the traditional requirements needed by most of my peers (i.e. a college degree, certifications) while having none of those things because I've had the opportunity to demonstrate competency in these areas and continue to grow in my career.
4. Your greatest weaknesses? (Please list at least three):
- Perfectionism: I've done a lot of job interviews where people list something like this where it's like "Oh their weakness is actually a positive" and they're just trying to gain points. Let me be the first to tell you, this is indeed a weakness. I can spend FAR too long on things, trying to make it absolutely perfect, when it could have been done in 5 minutes. I do it with work and in my personal life and its something I'm keenly aware of and always trying to improve on. Things can still be good without being perfect, which is in many ways subjective anyway.
- Burnout: I am prone to get obsessive over things I like and invest way too much time into them, ultimately over time robbing me of joy in it and making it a burden instead. I don't want that to happen here as much as I like GTA and RP, so I need myself and those around me to help pace me if I get way too into it.
- Skepticism: I am prone to skepticism. Particularly towards people who I have encountered in the past who I have had bad experiences with or who have lied to me. In my job, being impartial is a pretty critical skill and its something I have to check often to ensure I'm not inadvertently being skeptical against someone in a situation that doesn't warrant it.
5. Do you understand you may not own a business as an administrator?
- That is alright. Even if I were to roleplay, I doubt I'd ever make enough to purchase a business anyway XD
6. Do you understand that on your admin account you may no longer partake in roleplay?
- Thats alright with me, if I can help others have the best RP experience with this, it'll be a lot more fun than RP to me.
7. Are there currently any issues in your real life that would hinder your activity as an admin?
- I am a father to 3 young kids. As such, family is very important to me. Weekends, it's their time not game time. If this costs me the opportunity to do this, then I'll still sleep well at night. But predominantly how this could ever be an issue would be just difficulty scheduling. I may hop on regularly at 7pm but one night they may not be going to bed on time and I dont get on til 8 or 9 or if they get sick and need extra care and attention. Beyond that, all should be well.
